TOKYO, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) -- Japan's services producer prices rose 3 percent from a year earlier in September, marking the 55th consecutive month of growth, official data showed Monday.
The growth rate of the services producer price index, which measures the costs of services provided by businesses to other firms and government entities, accelerated from a 2.7 percent gain in August, Bank of Japan data showed.
Prices went up for 114 of the 146 items surveyed and declined for 18, the data showed.
Prices of accommodation services climbed 11.1 percent, driven by an increased demand before the Oct. 13 closing of the Osaka Expo 2025.
Meanwhile, domestic air passenger transportation services also saw a strong demand, with their fees rising 6.8 percent. ■
