TUNIS, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Tunisia and Oman have agreed on a joint action plan to strengthen cooperation in various fields, the state-run Tunis Afrique Presse news agency reported on Wednesday.
The announcement was made during a joint press conference held in Tunis by Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti and visiting Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi.
Nafti said that the visit of the Omani foreign minister to Tunisia embodies the will of the two countries' leaders to further strengthen bilateral relations, and paves the way for a visit of Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said to Tunisia.
Albusaidi said the two countries share views on regional and international issues, in particular their joint support for the Palestinian cause and commitment to the resolutions of international legality.
The two sides also discussed ways to boost cooperation in such sectors as security, health, education, renewable energy, food safety, trade, justice and communication technologies. ■
