PHNOM PENH, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- The World Bank has approved a total of 105 million U.S. dollars in credit and grant to support an education improvement project in Cambodia, expected to benefit over 1.7 million children, said its press release on Monday.
The approved amount, including a 100-million-dollar credit and a 5-million-dollar grant, will be used to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills in primary schools across the Southeast Asian country, the press release said.
The project will also expand access to early childhood education and childcare services, improve teaching quality, upgrade school infrastructure, and strengthen education management systems. ■
